In an exclusive interview to Excelsior, Pixie threw light on her journey in small as well as big screen and what type of difficulties she faced on this path.
“My acting journey started after I won title of Femina Style Diva South Drama Queen and Miss Valentine Bangalore in 2014 as just after that I was offered a movie ‘Ek Tera Saath’. Thereafter, I came to Mumbai and joined Bollywood actor Anupam Kher’s acting school ‘Actor’s Prepare’, where I was trained and groomed. After completion of the acting course, I started giving auditions and in this way my journey started,” Pixie said.
Regarding difficulties she faced during auditions, Pixie said that she had to face innumerable rejections but she didn’t give up and gradually she started getting work in TV Advertisements and serials and small roles in Bollywood movies.
When asked which she loves more– modeling or acting, pixie said she started doing modeling initially just for her hobby. “After winning titles of Femina Style Diva South Drama Queen and Miss Valentine Bangalore in 2014, my Fashion Guru wanted me to compete for Miss Universe title but it couldn’t happened as I had signed my first movie ‘Ek Tera Saath’ by that time. Thereafter, I did many ramp shows but I was more interested in acting as I didn’t find any creativity in modeling,” she added.
On her upcoming film, Pixie disclosed that soon a Tamil film in which she is in lead role is going to release. “The film was shot before lockdown and at present it is in post-production stage,” she said. On a question regarding difficulties she faced in South Indian Cinema and Bollywood, Pixie said it all depends on your team and luckily, she got good teams both in Bollywood as well as South Film Industry and so, her experience was very good with both the film industries.
Speaking on her dream project which she wants to do, Pixie said she wants to do Army Officer’s role, no matter in which film industry she gets it, as since childhood her aim was to join Army and that’s why she joined NCC and even secured NCC C-Certificate. I was also one of the best shooters, she added.
“I got full support from my parents and also my brother Arjun, who is younger than me in age but senior in acting field. I learned a lot from him as he is the first one who pulled me in this field. I am thankful to my brother and my parents,” said Pixie when asked about the support she got from her parents to make career in acting.
Talking about her role in Hindi serial ‘Pushpa Impossible’ coming on SAB TV, Pixie said she is playing the role of an English teacher in the serial and the serial is about a young married woman who didn’t get chance to go to school during her childhood and after marriage, she joined a school where she faced many difficulties but despite facing all challenges, she wants to study.
When asked which role is close to her heart and she thinks it was made for her, Pixie said she would love to play the role of Kareena Kapoor in ‘Jab We Met’ if offered. Replying to a question whether her struggle in the film industry has come to an end or it is still going on, Pixie said, “Struggle is never ending in the film industry, particularly in Bollywood when you didn’t have any Godfather. One gets only character roles and other minor roles. You need Godfather to get lead roles in the films or invest money.”
Pixie disclosed that she is soon going to shoot a Hindi movie titled ‘Aprajita- the undefeatable Karma’ in Jammu and its outskirts such as Patnitop, Kud, Batote and Bhaderwah for which she herself has written the script. The scenic beauty of Jammu will be fully portrait in this movie, she said, adding, the movie will also be dubbed in Dogri and Punjabi. On her biggest achievement till date in the acting field, Pixie said it is yet to be come but she is sure that will come from her movie ‘Aprajita’ as this type of movie has not been written yet. I will make Jammu and India proud through this film, she added.
In her message to her fans and people of Jammu, Pixie said, “Love yourself and each other as we all are one, the creation of one Almighty. Don’t pay heed to the dirty politics of some politicians and live peacefully.”
