PHDCCI holds interactive session with Mayor, JMC Commissioner

JAMMU, July 2: PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PHDCCI), Jammu Chapter, organized an interactive session with Mayor Jammu Chander Mohan Gupta, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and CEO Smart City Jammu Rahul Yadav and Additional CEO Smart City Jammu Hitesh Gupta.
Hitesh Gupta briefed the members about various projects going on in Jammu related to smart city. He informed them about the Tawi River Front development project, planned cycling and walking tracks as well as light and sound show on the walls of Bahu Fort that is on cards. He informed that under smart city project around 700 cameras will be installed at different places of Jammu city for traffic and surveillance and all smart city projects will be completed by June 2023.
Chander Mohan Gupta shared his views about various projects to attract tourism in Jammu region like Gandola project, Beautification of Mubarak Mandi, Jamboo Zoo, International Yoga Center, Garhana Vet Land, Beating Retreat at Suchetghar and other initiatives. Gupta shared that a lot of online services have been started by JMC for the ease of general public and sought suggestions to add any other service. He said that his aim is to make the processes paperless and faceless.
Rahul Yadav informed members of the Chamber about the initiatives that J&K administration is taking related to land and properties in J&K. He said that a Unique Property Number will be given to all in future and ULIP Number will be used to identify location. More online services will be introduced and proper feedback will be taken for those online services by the general public, he added.
Earlier, PHDCCI held its executive council meeting which was chaired by its chairman Rahul Sahai. He briefed executive members about the activities that the Jammu Chapter had organized during past year.
Various issues that came up for discussion in the meeting include funding and fast track process for the IT Start ups in J&K, consulting stakeholders before policy formation, problems related to land conversion, development of industrial estates and reservation of industrial land for local people, single window system and extension in provisional registration of units.
