JAMMU, July 2: SDM Chowki Choura Virender Gupta along with his Tehsildar Dr Raman Jandyal made an extensive tour of far-flung villages of Chowki Choura Sub Division and conducted surprise inspections of various Government institutions.
During the tour, the SDM visited various Government institutions viz. ISM Dispensary Majoor, NTPHC Ghaar, Government High School Ghaar and adjoining PWD Guest House at Ghaar, to ensure punctuality and better delivery of public services.
The officer along with his Revenue team and in presence of PRI Members of village Ghaar-Majoor and Sandal resolved an old brawl over the construction of a tractor-road from Cheel Pyaa to Shamshaan Ghat at Sandal as the adjoining dwellers have had been facing problems in carrying the dead bodies for its cremation. The Revenue team demarcated the adjoining area and sensitized the accused persons/stake holders vis-a-vis removed all the bottlenecks/obstructions with the help of a JCB and made it through for the public.
After that, the SDM and his team proceeded to village Rameen Makhyaan to take stock of progress over the Sungal-Bhambla Tunnel being constructed on Akhnoor-Poonch National Highway and exhorted upon its executing agency to expedite its working so as to complete it within the prescribed time.
On the way back, the Officer and his Revenue visited Morha Lalliyan of village Chowki and identified the Roshni Land at Khasra number 1 having illegally been occupied by Lakhmi Chand. They demarcated the piece of State land vested under Roshni Scheme and sensitized its illegal occupant and after that retrieved peacefully a piece of 11 Kanals and 1 Marla Roshni land, valuing more than Rs 1 crore.
