AHA Jammu Chapter organizes training workshop for nursing professionals

JAMMU, July 2: Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA) Jammu Chapter organized second one-day training workshop for nursing professionals on “Issues in Nursing Practices” at Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, today.
The training was inaugurated by Dr Saleem Ur Rehman, DG Family Welfare J&K and Director Health Services Jammu (Executive Director AHA Jammu Chapter), in presence of Dr Yashpal Sharma MD JKMSCL/Director Coordination New Medical Colleges Jammu (President AHA India), Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma (Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr Jasbir Singh (President AHA Jammu Chapter) and Dr Ritu Gupta (Professor, Physiology GMC Jammu).
Dr Saleem Ur Rehman in his inaugural address highlighted the role of AHA for boosting and enchaining the knowledge and skill which are very useful for nursing professionals working in various institutions for patient health care. He also announced that the similar training will continue in entire Jammu division and 5-day training for Medical Officers shall be organized through AHA very soon.
Dr Yashpal Sharma during his presidential address highlighted the objective for reshaping and establishing various health institutions in the country besides conducting professional development courses at National Head quarters Noida and other parts of the country. He assured full support to AHA Jammu chapter for organizing such courses for nurses and medical professionals at regional level and at national headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma strongly acknowledged the working of AHA at national and regional level. She assured that more doctors and nurses shall be deputed from GMC & AHs Jammu for the trainings and also assure full support to AHA Jammu chapter.
Dr Jasbir Singh said that induction programmes, refresher training or advanced trainings for all categories of staff would be a routine matter and they will make standard operating procedure for all sorts of trainings.
In the training workshop, 55 nursing professionals participated which include participants from Army Hospital, BSF, CRPF, Police Hospital, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital, GMC Jammu and Associated Hospitals, Government Hospitals across Jammu region and private nursing colleges.
During the day-long training programme, sessions were chaired by AHA members Dr Sunita Puri, Dr Jasbir Singh, Dr Arun Sharma and Dr Jatinder Mehta.
The workshop was concluded by giving participation certificates to all the participants, resource persons and organizing committee.
