JAMMU, July 5: Parkash Parv of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib was celebrated with great fervor, devotion and utmost religious sentiments at Gurudwara Tahli Sahib, Canal Road, Jammu.
A large number of Sikh devotees from all over Jammu region paid their tribute to Guru Maharaj. The newly framed committee of DGPC made all arrangements for devotees including Guru Ka Langar.
Besides, local Ragi Jathas namely Davinder Singh & Rattan Singh Hazuri Ragi (DGPC), Sahib Bhi Davinder Singh Hazuri Ragi from Darbar Sahib, Nachatar Singh Parcharak Gurmat Gyan Missionary College Ludhiana and Dadhi Jatha of Gurpreet Singh Landra Punjab recited Gurbani Kirtan and Katha Vichar during the Samagam.
On the occasion, the meritorious Sikh students who secured more than 95% marks in the recently declared 12th class J&K Board Exams, were given awards of excellence.
Ranjeet Singh (president) while addressing the Sikh Sangat said that the whole DGPC team shall work hard in the field of ‘Dharam Parchar’ and shall also look into the matter of wages of Gurudwara employees as has been promised by almost all the contesting candidates.
Besides elected office bearers of DGPC, Balvinder Singh (vice president), Surjeet Singh (secretary), Ranvir Singh (joint secretary), Jagpal Singh (cashier), Gurmeet Singh and Harjit Singh (Incharge, Dharam Parchar Committee, DGPC), other elected members namely Karan Singh Bali, Tejinder Singh and Avtar Singh were also present.
