KATHUA, July 6: In a rare case of cruelty a minor boy was killed in his neighbourhood to avenge old enmity.
The unfortunate incident took place in village Saidpur , block Nagari in Kathua district last night. The body of the boy was found in nearby field in bushes and his mouth, arms, legs were tied with cloth and plastic tape and the body was packed in a bag. Police recovered the body of child late night 12 .30 AM after hot efforts from the field of accused involved in the murder . The child was identified as Praney, 10 years old, son of Raman Gupta resident of village Saidpur, block Nagari of Kathua district.
The father of Praney said that he was on duty and received a call of his son’s missing last evening 6.30 pm.
He rushed to his house and informed the police. A police team immediately swung into action and started searches in nearby fields . The Praney was called from his residence at 6pm by a local youth Nanu on the instance of his neighbour, Pawan Saini the father of deceased said.
The prime accused killed the minor after chocking his mouth and nose, tied his arms and legs and strangulated him with piece of cloth to death. After committing the crime accused packed the body in a popular bag and hide it in bushes in an isolated area. During the search of missing body ,the accused tried to dodge the police and shared misinformation that boy had gone to opposite direction. Ultimately police and local people started search in the field of accused person and found the body.
Nagari police arrested the three persons identified as Pawan Saini ,his son Mohit and Danesh. After questioning , prime accused broke and confessed the crime and said the cause of murder was old rivalry.
Kathua police solved the blind murder case of a minor within 6 hours and arrested the main accused involved. The DySP Kathua, Shammi Kumar said that prime accused in the case is arrested and identified as Pawan Saini, son of Daya Ram resident of Village Saidpur, Nagari. A case under FIR No 266/2022, under section 364, 34 IPC has been registered . Some more suspected persons are being rounded up in the case.
Police handed the body after postmortem to family members for last rites. The family members and villagers showed anger over such heinous crime and demanded death sentence to accused.
