UDHAMPUR, July 6: Traffic police here today seized a car of Maruti Swift make for having fake registration number.
As per police, cops at Jakhani Naka point on National Highway stopped a car of Maruti Swift make bearing registration number DL14CC-9290 coming from Jammu and moving towards Doda.
Traffic cops checked the vehicle number and found that the vehicle number mismatched with engine number.
As per Dy.SP Traffic, Himat Singh the car was a stolen vehicle and a case was registered at Police Station Madhu Vihar, Delhi on December 11, 2017 in FIR number 039270 about theft of this vehicle.
The car was seized and sent to Police Station Udhampur while further investigation into the case is going on.
