Support Congress for strengthening Jammu: Madan

Jammu, Sept 16: Madan Lal Sharma, Member Parliament Jammu-Poonch Constituency addressed a largely attended meeting at Wazir Lane W.No.41 Talab Tillo Jammu.  He called upon the people to strengthen the bond of amity and brotherhood for the overall development of the State in particular and Nation in general.  Mr. Sharma said that peace, amity and brotherhood are pre-requisite for the progress and prosperity of the state and  society.  He asked people to be aware of the communal forces which will try to divide people for their vested interests.  He also felt the need to encourage the peace loving communities and discouragement to the trouble monglers and peace disturbing elements.
Mr. Sharma said that during the past nine years as MP, he has tried to address the aspirations of people from all communities, districts and faiths without any discrimination and will continue to work for the development of his constituency in every possible manner.  He also asked the party men to gear up for the forthcoming challenges and popularize the pro-poor decisions taken by the UPA Government at the Centre in the shape of bringing Food Security Bill, Protection for the street vendors and Land Reform Bill etc.   Mr. Sharma said that Food Security Bill will provide subsidized ration to 75-80% people of country.  Ensuring people rights to food by this Act, no one in the country will sleep empty stomach.  He also lauded the UPA Govt for passage of the street vendors (Protection & Promotion of Livelihood) Bill 2011 and said this bill has provided a sign of relief to daily bread earners who were earlier harassed by police & other law enforcing agencies.  Mr. Sharma also informed people about the provision whereby land of a farmer can’t be acquired without his consent.  He called upon the J&K Govt to adopt & implement these provisions in J&K for benefit of poor & needy.
