JAMMU, July 9: Federation of All India Vyapar Mandal (FAIVM) today discussed various issues regarding optimum safety of consumers as well as the traders in providing various food products to the consumers.
In this context, a meeting was held at FAIVM office here today which was presided over by the Assistant Commissioner Food Safety.
While the FAIVM members highlighted the issue of some of the traders feeling harassed by the action of the concerned officials for no fault of theirs, they assured the Assistant Commissioner of taking due care of the products sold to the customers whether branded or otherwise. They said that in view of the festive Eid-ul-Adha Festival being celebrated for coming two days, the traders are already expecting a heavy rush of customers and in such a situation, the harassment to traders would be a quite unhealthy sign. However they asserted that those found violating law should not be spared.
The Assistant Commissioner after giving a patient hearing to the FAIVM members assured them that no trader would be unnecessarily disturbed in conducting the routine business especially during festive days. However the department shall keep a strict vigil against the violators so that they are brought to justice.
Later, Sanjay Bansal, President FAIVM appointed Rajesh Aggarwal as Vice President of FAIVM J&K unit. The Assistant Commissioner Food Safety presented a letter of appointment to Rajesh Aggarwal in presence of core committee members. They wished Rajesh all the best for his tenure as the Vice President of the organization.
