UDHAMPUR, July 9: A middle aged woman committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her house in Ramnagar.
According to the police report, Chanchla Devi (55), wife of Rattan Lal, resident of Challara, Tehsil Ramnagar, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at her house, this morning.
Family members rushed her to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, she did not respond to the treatment and died soon.
Later, the Police after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, handed over the dead body to family members and registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
Exact cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained. However, reports suggest that the deceased was suffering from prolonged illness, which might have disappointed her and provoked her to commit suicide for getting rid of sufferings because of ailment.
