JAMMU, Sept 17: Dr T R Raina, Administrator, Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla and Secretary General Governing Body of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology (ISBTI) besides former Professor & Head Transfusion Medicine Government Medical College Jammu, attended 3rd Meeting of Advisory Committee of Haemovigilance Programme of India at National Institute of Biologicals, New Delhi.
Other members of the Advisory Committee included representatives from WHO, NACO, Drug Controller of India, Indian Pharmacology Commission, Central Licensing authority for Blood Banking and experts from the field of Transfusion Medicine.
Dr Raina also attended 2nd Annual National Conference of Indian Society of Transfusion Medicine (ISTM) at Bangalore. More than 600 delegates attended the conference from India and abroad. Dr Raina chaired a session on “Legislation V/S Accreditation of Blood Banks” in the country.
He also took part in the Panel Discussion as a panelist on “Haemovigilance Programme of India”. On the concluding day of the conference, he was felicitated with a Medal as an advisor to the Organising Committee of the conference.
