Jagdish kick starts development work

JAMMU, July 13: Corporator of Ward Number 2 Jammu Jagdish Sharma today laid the foundation of a developmental work in Old City.
Sharma kick started the deep drain work at Chowk Chabutra in presence of Sunil Thusso (Project Director, Smart City), Vivek Chopra (AEE Smart City), Hitesh Gupta (ACEO), Arun Gupta (XEN JMC) and prominent persons of the area.
The Corporator said that the work of deep drain will start from Post Office point to K L Sehgal Chowk Link Road and it will help at great extent to improve the drainage system in Old City, especially in Old Bazars of Maharaja’s era.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma raised the issue of Mubarak Mandi Main gate which has been closed for the movement of four wheeler vehicles for the last few years and suggested that Government should sort out this issue by providing any solution to the general public and some relief to the local inhabitants of area.
The Corporator stressed that there is dire need of cooperation, strategy and accountability among JMC Jammu and different departments to implement Smart City project in Jammu city in letter and spirit.
