JAMMU, July 14: The Jammu based reserved category employees posted in Kashmir continued their protest dharna on 44th consecutive day despite rain at Ambedkar Chowk Park, in Jammu today.
The protesting employees of different departments rendering their services in Kashmir Division of UT of Jammu and Kashmir are on continuous peaceful protest since 1st of June, 2022 . Raising slogans in support of their demands, they were seeking redressal of their genuine demands and issues in the wake of recent selective and target killings of government employees working in Kashmir Division.
Several prominent members of Core Committee of All Jammu Based Reserved Category Employees Association Kashmir- Vipen Kumar, Romesh Chand, Anil Radhey, Madhu Bala, Naresh Kumar while speaking, urged the Lt Governor JKUT to issue necessary orders as has been discussed and assured by the LG during the earlier meeting held on June 27, 2022 at Governor House Jammu regarding 3-point genuine demands including formation of a comprehensive time bound transfer policy, utilization of services of employees in their respective district and not to pressurize the Jammu based employees to resume their duties in prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley.
A large gathering of employees along with their siblings was witnessed at the venue. In support of protesting employees, several family members of the employees including their children were present at the venue and urged the UT administration to transfer their parents back to their home district as the present situation is not conducive for their parents to survive in Kashmir.
Meanwhile a delegation of all Jammu based employees working in Kashmir Division met with the Ravinder Raina, State president BJP and apprised him about the grievances of protesting employees. Raina extended full support to the employees for their justified demands and assured that he will press the administration for immediate redressal of their grievances and he will meet with the LG JKUT shortly.
