LOS ANGELES, June 11: The third animated ‘Madagascar’ film stampeded past sci-fi thriller ‘Prometheus’ to top US and Canadian box office charts with nearly 60.4 million dollars in ticket sales over the weekend. ‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted’ also performed well in its debut in 28 international markets, bringing global ticket sales to 135.8 million dollars in its opening weekend, according to distributor Paramount Pictures.
