Targeting modifiable risk factor lowers burden of CVD : Dr Sushil

Poonch, July 16: Continuing the tradition of service and empathy a health check up camp was organized by Dr. Sushil Sharma at Navgreh Temple, Ajote, Poonch
The camp started in the wee hours of morning and was inaugurated by Adv. Sunil Sharma, Chairman, Municipal Council, amidst the melodious symphony of Vedic mantras.
While interacting with common populace and attendees for health check up cum awareness camp, Dr. Sushil Sharma and his team informed that besides the above mentioned issues , the border areas have multiple issues which bring uncertainty and unpredictability in the lives of border residents thereby putting extra toll on their health.
Further, a significant majority of PoJK displaced section is living in Poonch area, and the effect of displacement on CVD and mental health is not a secret affair. Due to these interrelated risk factors that influence cardiovascular health, which involve aspects of economies and societies, a singular, time-limited commitment will not suffice rather it requires long-term interventions and sustainable solutions.
More than 700 patients were examined, evaluated and advised during the camp. ECG ,Blood Sugar, HBA1C and lipid profile was conducted and free medicines were also given as per the requirements.
Others who were part of the camp include Dr Shahbaz Khan( Physician Specialists) . Paramedics and volunteers include Dr Vivek Arya , Dr Satish Sharma, Dr Udeshpal Sharma, Raghav Rajput, Maqsood Ahmed, Maneet Kumar, Akshay Kumar, Amandeep Singh , Aman Gupta, Rajkumar , Vikas Kumar , Jagjit Singh , Nirjyote Singh, Sukhjyote Singh , Nirvair Singh and Rishav Sudan.
