REASI, July 17: Son of a VDC (Village Defence Committee) man shot himself dead under mysterious circumstances at his house in a remote village of Chassana area, here this morning.
Reports said that Gulab Singh (24), son of Tota Ram, resident of Sherghari, teshil Chassana, shot himself dead with rifle of his father. Marriage of the deceased was scheduled to be held after two months.
On being informed, a Police team from Police Post Malikote rushed to the spot and seized the gun besides shifting the dead body to hospital for postmortem.
Though it was an apparent case of suicide, cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained. Police have registered case and started investigation.
