JAMMU, July 17: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held today at Jagti township near here. It was decided in the meeting that the protest sit -in will continue till the demands of Kashmiri Pandits are to be met.
After the meeting a strong protest was held by the Jagti Tenement /Soan Kashmir Front. Addressing the protesters Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said that “We are protesting for 625 day and are demanding enhancement of monthly cash relief of relief holders”.
Pandita said that due to rising inflation, the livelihood of the relief holders is not being maintained due to which the migrant relief holders are facing dire hardships.
Pandita said that his organisation has been protesting for 625 days and are demanding to enhancement of monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month but the State and Center Government is ignoring the relief holders and forcing the exiled community to hold protest sit-in.
