DDC holds social audit of Chinkah, Gari Panchayats

REASI, Sept 18: District Development Commissioner, Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Joginder Singh Rai and other officers today held the social audit under MGNREGA for Gari and Chinkah Panchayats of Arnas block.
During social audit the expenditure incurred during the current financial year against the allocation of Rs 2.10 crore was reviewed. DDC enquired from job card holders about registration of families, distribution of job cards, receipt of work application, execution of works, maintenance of muster sheets, timely payment of wages and role of vigilance and monitoring committees in the areas.
District Social Auditor presented a resume of works taken up which were put to discussion before the general public. The Sarpanch and Panchs of the area gave details of various activities. A number of issues regarding job cards and timely payments were resolved.
The DDC directed that fresh ration card meant for job cards and employment will be issued by the concerned departments immediately for bifurcated families. He also announced construction of Dam-Top road and Chinkah link road apart from construction of new school buildings under convergence of Sarva Shiksha Abhyan with MGNREGA.
Expressing concern over delay in execution of works, he directed the Rural Engineering Works wing to expedite the process of estimation at Panchayat level for speedy completion of works.
Later, a public grievance redressal camp was organised in which issues related to education, revenue, PMGSY, rural development, CA&PD, power and PWD were redressed by concerned departmental officers. The DDC directed for initiating action again against absentee teachers and monitoring of attendance at Panchayat level.
