NC exploits people for political gains: Mehbooba

Excelsior Correspondent
SRINAGAR, Sept 18: People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti has alleged that National Conference has always exploited Kashmiri people for the political gains and achieve power.
Addressing a youth convention at Khansahib in Budgam district  of Kashmir today, the PDP leader alleged that National Conference has always exploited the people of this State and especially Kashmiris for political gains. The youth of Kashmir have been pushed to the wall and denied opportunities on political, social and economic fronts.  The siege around the State in the wake of independence denied them avenues of cultural integration  and they were left with the feeling of being bottle up in an atmosphere of suspicion, mistrust and suppression.
Ms Mehbooba pointed out that given the right vision, direction and leadership, youth of the State can script a new destiny for themselves and that is the centre piece of  her party’s agenda. She claimed that PDP started its journey with just one seat in 1999 and reached up to 16 in 2002 and then to 21 in 2008 and it got maximum vote share in the State. Keeping in view the PDP’s record in restoring the sense of security among people along with best form of governance, the party is emerging as best alternative for the State. She alleged that fast track recruitment claim of the  Government has also proved hollow.
Other party leaders Mohd Dillawar Mir, Tariq Hamid Karra  and Sayed Bashrat Bukhari also addressed the gathering.
