JAMMU, July 18: After taking the charge of Chairman Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Manoj Kumar said realizing Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s dream of ‘Aatamanirbhar Bharat’ would be his priority.
He stressed for establishing maximum number of small and micro units and creating self-employment through various schemes of KVIC to achieve the larger goal of self-reliant India.
“KVIC would continue working on the vision of PM Modi that would make the youth job-providers instead of job-seekers,” Kumar maintained.
He has worked as Expert Member (Marketing) at KVIC and has vast experience in areas of marketing and rural development.
A handout stated that Kumar believes that Khadi is spreading like a silent revolution in country which is being led by PM Modi and achievements of ‘Khadi India’ in last eight years remained outstanding.
The KVIC Chairman said he would ensure that the money disbursed by the Government reaches directly into the hands of Khadi artisans that would, in turn, pave way for economic empowerment of weaker sections of the society particularly poorest of the poor.
He said KVIC would strive to ensure that every hand gets sufficient work and is fairly remunerated for their works.
“Popularizing Khadi on global platform, the way it has gained popularity in India, will be top priority. Our efforts will be to make Khadi global so that demand of Khadi increases significantly across the world,” Kumar said.
