Three thieves arrested with stolen cash, gold ornaments

POONCH, July 20: Mendhar Police arrested three thieves and recovered stolen cash and gold ornaments worth lakhs.
As per police sources, to work out the theft cases registered under FIR Numbers 130/2022, 132/2022 and 161/2022, a team from Police Station Mendhar led by SHO Inspector Nayaz Ahmed and assisted by PSIs Gulshan Partap and Venkatesh was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Sheezan Bhat.
The team after scrutinising CCTV cameras and through technical evidences finally arrested three thieves, who were identified as Abbas Khan,son of Ayub Khan and Zariyat Hussain, son of Munavar Hussain, both residents of Potha Surankote and Mohd Nazarat, son of Mohd Yousuf of Banpat District Poonch.
On their disclosure, Rs 1.60 lakh stolen cash and gold ornaments worth lakhs were recovered.
Further investigation into the cases registered against these arrested thieves is going on.
The arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of Additional SP Poonch Mushim Ahmed and SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra.
