People protest as Govt school found locked

RAJOURI, Sept 19: People from Bai Nambla and Chakli area of Kotranka lodged strong protest with the Tehsil administration as local Govt Middle School, Chakli, was lying locked for the last few days.
The villagers led by Naib Sarpanch Mohd Reyaz today thronged the office of Tehsildar Kotranka and held protest. They alleged that in GMS, Chakli there were 75 students and two teachers. The teachers were not regular and they used come by turn. There is no time table to attend the school. One comes and another avails off. But for the last few days there was lock on the school. The matter was brought to the notice of  ZEO but he did not take any action. They said that studies of the children were being affected and there was no monitoring on the schools.
Tehsildar Kotranka listened to their problem. Later, he spoke to the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and Chief Education Officer  on phone on this issue. The DC has sought immediate action against the teachers and directed CEO to pull up officers for negligence and ensure proper functioning of the schools. The villagers said if  officers  can not monitor, let the schools be closed.
