Legal awareness camps held

JAMMU, Sept 19: District Legal Services Authorities of Reasi and Samba districts oganized legal awareness camps.
District Legal Services Authority, Reasi organized a legal awareness camp under National Plan of Action at Karua under the chairmanship of YP Kotwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge.
Speaking on the occasion, YP Kotwal threw light on ADR system, Lok Adalats, pre litigation and different schemes launched by NALSA and SLSA for the benefit of people. Kotwal appealed the people to come forward to avail maximum benefit of such schemes.
He assured the people to provide instant legal services to poor, senior citizens, women, children and mentally disabled persons.
Deputy CMO Dr KC Dogra threw light on heath care facilities available in the district.
The camp was attended by KK Dubey, president, Bar Association Reasi, Tehsildar Reasi RK Anand, RK Sharma, VK Sharma, Shalinder Bhardwaj, PD Singh, advocates, Para Legal Volunteers, Sarp-anch, Panchs, numberdars, chowkidars, anganwadi workers, helpers, large number of women and local populace.
Meanwhile, a legal awareness camp on “Legal Literacy Class in College” was held under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge at Government Degree College, Samba.
During the camp, SS Bali, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sub Judge/CJM, Samba apprised the students about their legal rights.
Pawan Khajuria, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Samba spoke about legal rights of students regarding Police Rules. Ajay Gupta, advocate and Retainer Lawyer spoke on rights of children in labour laws.
Dr Sandhaya, NSS Programme Officer, staff and students of college, Dr Showkat, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ram Paul Sharma, Naib Tehsildar and Rakesh Bhagat, Advocate were also present.
