Bovine smuggling bid foiled

UDHAMPUR, Sept 19: Udhampur Police today foiled another attempt of bovine smuggling and arrested an accused who was transporting two animals to Kashmir valley.
While conducting routine checking at Jakhani naka, a Police party from Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Deepak Jasrotia, intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK026-1532 in which two bovine animals were being smuggled.  Police arrested the vehicle driver namely Mohd Benia of Third Udhampur and also rescued the bovine animals.
A case FIR number .285/2013 U/S 188/RPC was registered at Police Station Udhampur against the accused smuggler.
