2 held with 142 bundles of banned Chinese Manja

JAMMU, July 23: In a drive against the sale of banned synthetic threads (manja), Akhnoor Police today arrested two persons in possession of 142 bundles of Chinese Manja.
A team of Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar raided a place on the basis of specific inputs and rounded up two suspects who were selling banned Chinese Manja in the jurisdiction of Police Station Akhnoor. During search, 142 bundles of Chinese Manja (Gattu) were recovered from their possession.
In this connection, two cases under FIR numbers 214/2022 and 215/2022 under Section 188 IPC were registered at Police Station Akhnoor and the accused were arrested. The arrest was made in violation of DM order regarding ban on sale of plastic/synthetic threads (manja).
The arrested persons were identified as Vijay Kumar son of Massu Ram, resident of Lehar (Sungal, tehsil Akhnoor) and Rajesh Sharma son of late Chaman Lal Sharma, resident of Ward number 7, Arya Samaj Gali, tehsil Akhnoor.
