Passage of Shrines Bill, encroachments dominate KP religious bodies meeting

JAMMU, July 23: The passage of much talked about Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill and encroachment of shrines land dominated the debate in a meeting of various Temple and Shrine Committees of Kashmir held here, today at KP Sabha Ambphalla.
The meeting was chaired by BJP general secretary (org) Ashok Koul while it was organised by Moti Lal Bhat and H L Bhat in charge Shrines and Temples of the party to have liaison and coordination with all temple and shrines committee representatives of Valley.
The prominent who spoke in the meeting included Prof O N Koul, president Ganesh Asthapan, Hanad Chowalgam, M K Bambroo president, Nagbal Prabhandak Committee, Anantnag, B L Zaar acting chairman, Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Trust, Kuldeep Raina, president, Kheer Bhawani Manzgam, I K Raina representative of Shrines and Temple Committee, Akoora, Anantnag, Bushan Lal Hangloo, president, Swami Mirzakak Trust, Hangalgund, M K Raina, representative of Jawala Ji Shrine, Khrew, B L Dhar, representative Kashi Bab Ashram, Hugam, P L Bhat, representative of Tral Awantipora Prabhandak Committee, president, Pokhribal, representative of Kheer Bhawani Tikker, besides ex MLC and BJP spokesman, Girdhari Lal, BJP leader Anil Dhar, BJP Displaced district president, Chand Bhat, vice president, Sweety Koul, general secretary, HL Razdan, Media incharge Rajiv and others.
The speakers in one voice stressed on passage of much talked about Shrines and Temples Bill saying it is the only confidence building measure. They made it clear that rehabilitation of Pandits was not possible without restoration of their ancient religious places.
The irresponsible role played by some officers in Valley in restoration of Shrines land has been decried by one and all and demanded that those creating hurdles in restoration of Hindu shrines and temples in Valley or who have grabbed their land be taken to task.
Ashok Kaul general secretary (Org), BJP assured all support on behalf of party and said that besides, the political party BJP has a social responsibility which it can’t shirk.
