Srinagar, July 23: The class 12 pass outs who are intending to get themselves admitted to the Cluster University (CU), Srinagar for various UG programs today staged a protest alleging that they were deceived by the University authorities in the name of the selection process.
Several such students appeared in the Press Enclave protesting against the Cluster University authorities while urging them to ensure their admission.
The students said when they filed the forms, they were told that the admission will be done based on the entrance test score, however, they said, the University later them a different story.
“Then, we were told that the admission will be made based on marks of class 12 to which we agreed; and later we appeared in the general merit list,” the students said.
However, the students said that when the selection list was put out by the University, many of the students, who had figured in the general merit list, were nowhere to be seen in the selection list.
“First, we prepared for the entrance test and then they told us a different story and now when we have figured in the general list, we are nowhere in the selection list; they are not guiding us rather they are being rude and are pushing us away,” the students said.
The students urged the higher-ups to intervene in the matter and ensure that their careers are not jeopardized.
