BLS, Jain Sabha launch organ donation awareness campaign

JAMMU, July 23: Bharatiya Jain Sangathan (BJS) J&K chapter in association with Jain Sabha Jammu today took an initiative to bring awareness amongst the masses to pledge to donate their eyes and other body organs.
The announcement in this connection was made by BJS National president Rajender Lunker Jain during its first state convention held under the aegis of S S Jain Sabha J&K at Shri Shwetamber Jain Sathanak, Bahu Plaza, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
In this regard, Joint Director, State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization’s (SOTTO) Dr Sanjeev Puri and Transplant Coordinator Irfan Ahmad gave a Power Point presentation to the audience. Prominent dignitaries present on the occasion Anand Jain (IPS), Rajeev Jain and Darshan Kumar Jain filled up the forms and submitted them with the SOTTO officers present on the occasion.
Earlier, Rajender Lunker Jain in his keynote speech highlighted that the Sanghatana has completed 37 yrs dedicated to the service of the nation. He said BJS has been a lead player in relief and rehabilitation efforts during all major disasters in India since 1993.
BJS State president Sandeep Jain (Sunny) in his welcome address stated that in the year 2005 when a major earthquake jolts J&K, BJS in partnership with Central Government, State Government and NDMA provided 870 shelters to 15,000 people in record time of 1 month and additionally took up an extraordinary challenge of bringing 500 children from Kashmir to WERC for their immediate educational rehabilitation.
Director ACB J&K, Anand Jain emphasized that starting from identifying and resolving issues to strengthen ordinary Jain family to creating a strong and dedicated network to bring broader social change, today BJS is a strong, professionally managed non- profit organization, committed to contribute towards nation building.
BJS State general secretary Monika Jain pledged to carry forward the vision of BJS to its fullest.
On the occasion, State executive committee of BJS was also formed under the president ship of Sandeep Jain (Sunny) for the year 2022-2024.
