4 drug peddlers held in Baramulla, Handwara

Srinagar, July 23 Police today arrested 4 drug peddlers in Baramulla, Handwara, and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
Officers from PS Chandoosa under the supervision of SHO PS Chandoosa during routine checking at Jathar Chandoosa intercepted three persons, police said.
During the search, police said, officers were able to recover 06gms of Brown Sugar and 60gms of Charas-like substance from their possession.
“They have been identified as Farooq Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani resident of Kachwa, Mohd Rafiq Sheikh son of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh resident of Fatehgarh and Amir Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Gani Wani resident of Zandfaran,” police said.
In Handwara, a police party of Police Post Magam during patrolling in the Bomdagar area intercepted a person in a suspicious manner who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
During the search, around 105 grams of Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession, police said.
“He has been identified as Abdul Quyoom Ahanger son of Abdul Razak Ahanger resident of Magam. He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.”
