2 Poklands, 1 dumper involved in illegal mining seized from Ujh

KATHUA, July 23: Two Pokland chain machines involved in illegal mining in Ujh river and one loaded dumper at Korepunu were seized by Geology and Mining Department today.
The operation was carried out by Geology Mining Department and Kathua Police in Ujh river near Korepunu areas as a result of which whole machinery along dumpers were detained from the spot and later on seized by DMO Kathua.
The special police party was sent by SSP Kathua R.C. Kotwal to carryout the operation in Ujh river.
Both the machines and dumper after seizure were kept in the custody of police till realization of penalty from them as per the rules of Geology and Mining Department.
Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rahul Pandey has already cautioned the field staff of Geology and Mining Department to remain vigilant and alert during the ongoing Monsoon season and after taking help from police, take strict action against violators and illegal miners if found involved in illegal mining activities.
It is worthwhile to mention here that both Geology and Mining Department and Kathua police are continuously are holding inspections during day time and night hours in the areas having apprehension of illegal mining activities during ongoing rainy season.
