Vikar reviews functioning of CAPD

JAMMU, Sept 20: Minister of State for Technical Education, CAPD, Power and Information Vikar Rasool today convened a meeting of CAPD Department to take stock of availability of essential commodities besides reviewing functioning of the department in Jammu region.
The Minister, who is here to attend the Summer Secretariat, reviewed in detail the stock and supply position of ration in the region.
Commissioner Secretary CAPD Mohammad Abbas, Director CAPD G S Chib, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and other senior officers of CAPD were present in the meeting.
The Director CAPD apprised the Minister of the status of food grain supply in various districts of Jammu region.
The Minister directed the Director to effectively monitor the public distribution mechanism in the districts especially hilly areas and ensure that the quota of ration reaches to the people well in time. He also asked for ensuring that ROs be issued before 15th of every month so that ration reaches to far flung areas in time.
He asked the officers to ensure display of stock position, rate list and list of BPL families in each ration sale depot besides monitoring the quality and quantity of ration being supplied to the people. He impressed upon them to keep a check on black-marketing especially of kerosene oil. He asked the officers to initiate stern action against the dealers who violate the prescribed norms of the department.
Vikar also reviewed the stock position and distribution of kerosene oil and LPG and directed all the officials to ensure its proper and timely distribution. He also took stock of winter dumping of foodgrains in hilly. He reviewed the status of home delivery of LPG in municipal limits and notified areas.
The Minister directed the Director CAPD to ensure that all the grievances of the consumers be met within stipulated time frame. He also stressed for early repair and renovation of dilapidated godowns of CAPD.
The Minister asked for constitution of a committee for ensuring effective monitoring and timely distribution of ration and other essential commodities. The committee will make sure that the ration is stocked in the CAPD sale outlets in the first half of the month.
The meeting also discussed re-notification of advertisement notice for new gas dealership.
