Manjit puts up issues of refugees before Goswami

JAMMU, Sept 20:   Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh accompanied by Labha Ram Gandhi and Partap Singh met with a joint team of State and Central Government officers led by Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami and apprised them of the issues of refugees and demanded their early resolution.
Singh demanded one time release of compensation in the shape of lump sum amount of Rs 25 lakh to the refugees who had left their properties in Pak occupied Kashmir. The delegation also demanded to fill the deficiency of land as per scale either in the shape of land or money as per the present rate.
They also demanded reservation for the wards of refugees of Chammb and PoK in State Colleges and Universities besides reservation in State Government jobs. Singh voiced to declare those areas as RBA where these people are residing.  They also demanded tenancy and ownership rights for them.
Singh termed the meeting as fruitful and hoped that the issues of displaced persons will be resolved on top priority.
Labba Ram Gandhi demanded citizenship right and reservation in Central Government jobs for West Pak Refugees.
