REASI, Sept 20: Residents from Gran Morh and adjoining areas blocked Jyotipuram-Reasi road to lodge their protest and disrupted the movement of traffic for over four hours today.
A large number of people of the area led by Sarpanch and other Panchayat members raised barricades at Gran Morh and stalled the movement of vehicular traffic at around 8.30 am today. They strated protest demonstration against the GREF authorities ( 110 RCC) and District Administration. They alleged that this road still awaits completion despite the lapse of three years. Earlier, it was with the R&B but later handed over to the GREF.
After the intervention of DSP Mohd Sharief, Naib Tehsildar and GREF Officer Maj S K Pandit, the people lifted dharna at round 1 pm. It was assured that the work will be started within a week and the road would be completed shortly. They also sought to draw the attention of 104 RCC towards the bad condition of Katra-Reasi road which has not been properly repaired.
