JAMMU, Sept 20: BJP welcomes the order of Supreme Court of India passed on September 17 for CBI investigation into the case of custodial death of a Dogra Hindu boy in Ram Munshi Bagh Police Station, Srinagar.
BJP Kashmir Cell National Co-convenor, Chander Mohan Sharma while addressing a press confernece at party headquarters, alongwith family members of Rajneesh Kumar, said that this order of Apex Court should serve as an eye opener to the Coalition Government of the State. The State Government has always been claiming to have zero tolerance toward human rights violation and on this issue the leaders of the Coalition Government have always tried to defame security forces and Army but they turn their deaf ear towards the atrocities committed by Kashmir police, particularly on the members of minority community in the State.
Chander Mohan Sharma thanked and showered all praise for Ms Pinky Anand, Senior Advocate Supreme Court of India and her team of advocates for agitating the matter before the Apex Court. The past track of J&K police officials has often found to be tilting towards one side for being communal driven in the cases of inter religious marriages. However, State Human Right Commission has taken suo-moto cognizance in the matter of custodial death of Rajneesh Kumar at Srinagar. Sharma also thanked P.C. Sharma Advocate for representing the family of deceased Rajneesh Sharma before State Human Rights Commission J&K, Jammu.
Sharma told that after hearing Ms Pinky Anand, Senior Advocate for the aged mother and brother of the deceased, Supreme Court Bench consisting of Justice C.K. Prasad and Justice J.S. Kehar on Wednesday (September 18) directed the CBI to investigate into the death of a young Hindu boy, who was alleged to have committed suicide in judicial custody in a Police Station in Srinagar, Kashmir, and to submit the report within six months.
