JAMMU, Sept 20: Police today arrested four gamblers and recovered Rs 26,850 bet money from their possession.
A police spokesman said that, on specific information, police party from Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station conducted raid in Gorkha Nagar area and arrested four gamblers, who have been identified as Kulbir Singh, son of Mela Singh, Raju Malgotra, son of Devi Dass, Gharu Lal, son of Dhani Ram and Parshotam Kumar, son of Kaku Ram, all residents of Gorkha Nagar.
“Rs 26,850 stake money and play cards were also recovered from the spot”, he added.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station and investigation started.
