JAMMU, July 27: At National Family Planning summit organized by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today at New Delhi, J&K Directorate of Family Welfare has been awarded for exemplary performance in adoption of Spacing Methods and Healthy Birth Spacing.
The award was given by Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar, Union MoS, Health and Family Welfare in the presence of Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary Health and Family Welfare MoHFW; Roli Singh, Additional Secretary and Mission Director National Health Mission and Dr. S.K Sikdar, Advisor Family Planning and Maternal Health, Govt of India.
Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General Family Welfare MCH & Immunization J&K received the award along with Dr. Poonam Sethi, Assistant Director Family Welfare MCH & Immunization Jammu, Dr. Masrat Jabeen, Assistant Director Family Welfare MCH & Immunization Kashmir and others.
It is pertinent to mention that J&K is one of the best performing State/UT in the country that have best indicators for Total Fertility Rate, Infant Mortality Rate, Neonatal Mortality Rate, Under 5 Mortality Rate, Maternal Mortality Ratio, Institutional Deliveries and Fully Immunized children.
