JU organises motivational lecture by Indian Air Force

JAMMU, July 27: A motivational lecture on career planning was organised by the Placement Cell in collaboration with the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu as part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrations.
The resource person for the motivational lecture was Sqn Ldr Pratish, Indian Air Force, Jammu Cantt. Currently he is serving as Senior Education Officer, Air Force Station Jammu and has a vast experience in the field of education branch of Indian Air Force.
While interacting with the students, he talked about the relevance and requirement of Indian Youth in the defence services. He talked about various career options available in different categories of Indian Air Force along with the required qualifications. He added that students can look for careers in flying branch (fighter pilot/ helicopter pilot/ transport pilot), technical and non technical ground duty branches (Administrative/ accounts/logistics/ education/metrology).
He strongly motivated the students for making a choice for joining Indian Air Force for achieving professional excellence.
Prof Naresh Padha, Dean Academic Affairs, JU, was the chief guest on the occasion. While addressing the students and staff, he appreciated Prof Vinay Chauhan, Dean Student Placement for taking up this important initiative in the present times by providing a platform for the youth for looking up to defence services as a career option. He also urged the students to take the benefits of these interactions in their career preparedness.
Earlier, Prof Vinay Chauhan, Dean, Student Placement and convenor of the event presented a brief profile of the placement cell highlighting the achievements and activities undertaken for professional development of students for better placements in the corporate world. He further apprised that there are many more lectures of different streams, which are planned in near future.
Prof. Prakash C Antahal, Dean Students Welfare highlighted the relevance of such sessions in the holistic development of the students. He also urged the university students to take maximum advantage of such opportunities which emanate from within as well as outside university system.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Amisha Gupta while Dr Aubid Hussain Parrey conducted proceedings of the event.
