Theft case worked out within 24 hrs, stolen goods recovered

UDHAMPUR, July 28: Udhampur Police worked out theft case under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramnagar within 24hrs of its registration and arrested the accused persons.
Based on the complaint by one Mohd Mushtaq, son of Abdul Gani of W.No.07 Chenani that some unknown thieves had stolen his iron shattering plates, three quintal iron bars and cut pieces of iron bar from construction site of Ghordi bridge, a case FIR No. 96/2022 U/S 379 IPC was registered in PS Ramnagar and investigation was started.
A police team headed by SHO PS Ramnagar, Inspector Pushpinder Singh under the supervision of Dr Bhishm Dubey, SDPO Ramnagar, conducted raids in different suspected locations.
During raids, some suspects were zeroed in by police and during sustained interrogation of these suspects, three of them broke down and confessed the commission of offence. They were identified as Dev Raj, son of Dhani Ram of Ghordi, Ajay Kumar, son of Hans Raj of Ghordi and Sanjay Kumar, son of Suram Chand of Ser Balla Ramnagar.
On the disclosure of these accused persons, stolen items like iron bars, shuttering tins valuing more than Rs 1, 20,000/- were recovered.
On their further disclosure, one auto bearing registration number JK14J- 0461 was also recovered from their possession which was used in the commission of offence.
Police is also working on the involvement of some other accused in the said theft case.
