JAMMU, July 30: Artemis Cardiac Care (ACC), a unit of Artemis Hospitals Gurgaon, which has a strong team of expert interventional cardiologists as well as cardiac surgeons led by Dr Manjinder Sandhu (Medical Director and Director of Cardiology), came forward and partnered with ASCOMS to bring best-in-class medical facilities for the patients of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing media persons on the launch of the Center at ASCOMS & Hospital, Dr Manjinder Sandhu said, “A recent study done by the Global Health Research Institute suggests that J&K has recorded 29.6% of deaths due to heart-related ailments. The study further reports that 25% of deaths occur in the age group of 25-69 years. As an organization, we are committed to providing the best cardiac care facility in the nooks and corners of the country so that any citizen should not remain deprived of timely medical care.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director-Principal, ASCOMS, said, “The collaboration of Artemis Cardiac Care and ASSCOMS will act as a cornerstone to optimize healthcare outcomes for patients in J&K. The aim of this joint venture is to make the city more convenient for its citizens so that they do not need to migrate to some bigger city because of the lack of medical facilities.”
“The Centre also plans to offer specialized fellowship training in cardiology-training now available only at the Government Medical College, Jammu. Our goal is to assemble multidisciplinary teams in fields such as open-heart surgery, angioplasty, etc. All of these resources will be accessible to those who cannot normally afford them,” Dr Malhotra asserted.
During the function, Dr C D Gupta (Consultant Cardiologist, ASCOMS & Hospital) was honoured in recognition of his dedicated services rendered in the field of Cardiology.
According to Dr Kapil Mohan, Head Strategy – ACC, “We will aim for continuous awareness in J&K. This will help the patients reach out to the best-in-class medical facilities on time and get the best treatments for better patient outcomes”.
