KISHTWAR, July 31: Police today arrested a Head Constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police and his associate for smuggling sapphire stone.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Kishtwar during checking near Thathri intercepted an Alto car bearing registration number JK02AA-5731, which was coming from Drabshalla towards Doda.
During checking, police team recovered one piece of sapphire like stone concealed in black polythene from the dashboard of the vehicle and arrested two persons including a Head Constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The arrested persons were identified as Arshad Hussain (Head Constable), son of Anayat Hussain and Yasir Hussain, son of Ghulam Nabi, both residents of Bhaderwah, Doda.
A case under FIR Number 183/2022 and Section 4/5 Sapphire Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
