Welder arrested for hatching kidnapping drama

JAMMU, Sept 21: Police have worked out the `kidnapping’ mystery of a welder working with Abrol Group of Companies at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. The welder identified as Vidhi Chand alias Babbu son of Pritam Chand of Lalyal, Phalayan Mandal had hatched the drama of kidnapping to harass his employers. He had taken shelter in a factory at Bari Barahmana, where he had been working previously.
Police said Vidhi Chand had to take Rs 90,000 from Abrol Group of Companies but was paid only Rs 65,000. A result of this, he left the job with the company.
To harass his employers including Amit Abrol of Trikuta Nagar and Govind Gupta alias Gourav of  Nanak Nagar, he hatched the kidnapping drama. When he was asked to return to the job by Abrol, he boarded off the bus at Domel and told his family that he has been kidnapped.
The welder’s brother and cousin, Ravi Kumar and Sikander Singh of Lalyal had lodged kidnapping report with Satwari police.
He took shelter in a factory at Bari Barahmana and even spoke to police on mobile telephone claiming that he had been tied with a rope for past four days.
Satwari police teams headed by SHO Inspector Hassan Kamaal got Call Detail Record of mobile telephone in possession of the welder and finally traced him in a factory at Bari Barahmana.
Police, which had detained Amit Abrol and Govind Gupta alias Gourav in connection with kidnapping of the welder, released them and arrested the welder for hatching a drama of kidnapping.
