JAMMU, Aug 1: Six persons have been arrested for attacking and injuring a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and DDC member.
As per police sources, BJP leader and DDC member Davinder Kumar and some members of other community had some altercation in Bana Chak area of Bishnah.
The members of other community attacked and injured DDC member and escaped from the spot.
The DDC member was taken to hospital for treatment and was discharged later.
On getting information, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Pawan Kumar was constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta.
The team put in hectic efforts and arrested six persons for attacking and injuring the DDC members. The names of the arrested persons were not disclosed as some of their associates are on run and hunt is going on to nab them also.
However, a case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
