11 Padder pilgrims killed in HP mishap

JAMMU, Sept 21: Eleven pilgrims from Padder area of Kishtwar district were killed in Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh when their jeep fell in rivulet near Rohali area.
The accident occurred last evening when the pilgrims were returning after paying obeisance at historic Triloki Nath and Trikula Mata shrines.
Locals traced the vehicle and informed police. However, due to remote site police got the information early this morning, reports said.
According to Bharat Singh, Sarpanch of village Ishtyari in Padder block, the deceased are identified as Ravinder Kumar, son of Gian Chand, his wife Renu Devi, their 9 month old daughter, Dina Nath, son of Gopa Ram, his wife Tara Devi, their daughter Rita Devi, Bishan Lal, son of Amar Singh, his wife Guddi Devi, Babli Devi, wife of Sher Singh, her 9 months old daughter and Bhim Singh (driver), son of Flail Singh of Ungai, Padder.
Bharat Singh said that body of Renu Devi could not be recovered, adding injured has been identified as Sher Singh.
