44 bovines rescued, 2 arrested

UDHAMPUR, Aug 4: Tikri and Chenani Police rescued 44 bovine animals and arrested two persons.
As per police sources, a team from Police Post Tikri laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle.
During checking, police team rescued 30 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Shabir Ahmed, a resident of District Udhampur.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Chenani during checking intercepted a vehicle. During checking, police team rescued 14 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Amar Dev, a resident of Assam.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Rehambal and Chenani and investigation started. The overall drive was conducts under SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar.
