JAMMU, Aug 4: Ravinder Raina, Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister accompanied by former MLAs Ashwani Sharma and Kamal Arora, Municipal Committee Chairman, Ramesh Saini, DDC Surekha Bhagat, BJP Mandal president, Arnia Devinder Singh, district vice-president, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SC Morcha spokesperson, ML Rao and other senior leaders of party paid glowing tribute to the martyr of Praja Parishad movement at Arnia today.
Ravinder Raina, while paying tribute to the martyr on the occasion said that the great people are born once, but live for the eternity in the heart of people. He said that martyr Krishan Lal, during his association with the movement took active part in Praja Parishad agitation and finally sacrificed his life for total integration of J&K with Indian Union. “We bow to him and all of them who have sacrificed their lives for our future’’. He said It is the result of the sacrifices of these great personalities in the past that the erstwhile State of J&K could be saved from severe devastation and now under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, it has become possible today to fully integrate Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India’’.
Kavinder Gupta recalled the life events of martyr Krishan Lal and said that he laid down his life for the society and the nation in 1972. He said, “We should follow the footsteps and learn from the lives of such great men,. They teach us a lot about out duties towards the society and we must remember them every year,’’ he added.
Ashwani Sharma said, “During the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava, we must remember the sacrifices of all those who laid down their lives for the nation’’.
Kamal Arora said “We must remember the sacrifices of these personalities and convey their tales to future generations too’’.
