NC determined to fulfill promises made with people: Slathia

SAMBA, Sept 22: Former Minister and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Surjit Singh Slathia said that National Conference (NC) is determined to fulfill promises made with the people during the elections.
Slathia said this while addressing a public meeting at Chak Bagla in Vijaypur today.
Slathia said that NC does not believe in hollow slogans but is committed for the upliftment of down trodden and poor sections of the society.
He said challenges ahead are serious but, present Coalition Government is committed to give justice to the people and ensure equitable development of all the three regions of the State.
He further said that the coalition Government has made a holistic development and has achieved visible significance during the last four and half years in various fields like education, tourism, empowerment, road connectivity, public dealing etc. He assured the people that National Conference has always been their voice for their aspirations and feelings and will be on the forefront to mitigate their sufferings.
The Government has enacted RTI, Public Service Guarantee Act, re-constitution of Accoun-tability commission and also taken such initiatives and efforts for bringing transparency, accountability in administration and curving the corruption in the State.
Slathia gave detailed account of the developmental projects and welfare schemes launched by the Government, that no such development and progress took place during the regime of Opposition. He said that opposition is unnerved with growing popularity graph of the present coalition, adding that they have foreseen their defeat in the forthcoming election.
