JAMMU, Sept 22: Scientist of J&K State Pollution Control Board Dr.Yash Paul, Head Labs SPCB Jammu and State Board Analyst, who was nominated by CPCB, Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt of India Delhi has attended a training programme on “Fugitive Emissions and Source Emissions” at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
He is the Ist Scientist of J&K, SPCB as one of the Scientist among 13 Indian delegates, who have attended this training at High-tech Environmental Research centre of the world with world class latest techniques which shall help the State in utilizing his services for further improvement in emission monitoring.
The aim of this Study visit was to share finnish experience on emission monitoring and techniques as well as their quality assurance. This study visit was carried out in the frame work of the co-operation project “Capacity Building for Emission measurements in India” between CPCB India and VTT-Technical Research Centre of Finland which was funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
Ambassador of India at Finland, A. Manickam had arranged a site visit and presentation on STP Sludge treatment/ disposal and online monitoring system and also hosted dinner for Indian delegates. During the discussions on environmental presentation, Dr. Paul discussed the issues and techniques in-use in J&K.
The Ambassador desired to discuss the issue with J&K Govt. and Chairman of J&K SPCB and hoped that the Scientist on completion of training will contribute for bringing world class technology to J&K including pollution load in Dal-lake and other water bodies.
