JAMMU, Sept 22: PG Department of Pediatric in SMGS Hospital, Govt. Medical College, Jammu in collaboration with IAP Jammu, City Branch, organized Intra Collegiate round of 26th IAP Undergraduate and Divisional round of 7th IAP PG Pediatric quiz.
Dr Rekha Harish, Professor & Head Dept of Pediatrics, threw light on the quizzes, which are organized to promote child health care awareness among the medical students both at Undergraduate and PG level.
Dr D B Sharma, Prof & HoD Paediatrics ASCOMS, was the chief guest. Dr R K Goyal Ex Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Ashok K Gupta, Ex HoD Paediatrics, Dr A S Sasan, Prof G S Saini, Dr Sanjeev Digra, Prof Sunil Kotwal HoD ENT, Dr Dara Singh MS SMGS, Dr Suri, Dr Ravinder, Dr Surinder Dr Sunil Sharma, Dr Mahesh and Dr Jyoti Hak were among the distinguished guests on this occasion.
A total of 170 Medical students attended this academic feast. Four teams from GMC Jammu participated in the IAP Undergraduate quiz. Naveen Bhagat and Nasir Yousuf were the winners and Sonu Parihar and Sahil Dogra were the first runners up.
The winners were Dr Ashish Sharma and Dr Ashwani Sahni from IGMC Shimla. First runners up were Dr Inderpreet Sethi and Pankaj Yadav from Fortis Escorts Hospital & Research Center Faridabad.
The other participants were Dr Imran and Dr Anumodhan (IInd Runners up) from GMC Jammu, Dr Goutam Madaan and Dr Latika Saini (IInd Runners up) from Mulana Medical College Haryana and Dr Shahnaz Ahmed Dar and Dr Mohd Yousuf from SKIMS Srinagar.
The winners of divisional round will now compete at Zonal level in New Delhi and Zonal winners shall compete at National level Quiz competition to be held during the National conference of Pediatrics at Indore in 2014.
