5 drug peddlers arrested

RAJOURI, Aug 6: Continuing its drive against the people involved in smuggling of narcotics, Rajouri police today arrested five drug peddlers and seized consignments of heroin like substance.
Police said that during routine checking and frisking at Salani bridge, a team of Police Station Rajouri, headed by SHO Fareed Ahmed, intercepted a Santro car bearing registration Number JK11F- 3273, which was coming from Nowshera towards Rajouri.
During search, Police recovered 50 grams of Heroin like substance from the possession of driver and his accomplice, who were identified as Aurangzeb Ali, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Sialsui, at present Dhanidhar and Zulfiqar Ali, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Kotedhara.
Police arrested both the persons and seized the drugs as well as the car. A case FIR number 420/2022 U/S 8/21/22/25/NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rajouri.
Earlier, Police arrested three drug peddlers who were carrying 15 grams heroin like narcotic substances in Rajouri. The trio was intercepted by a Police team, headed by SHO Rajouri Fareed Ahmed during patrolling.
The arrested accused were identified as Assad Iqbal, son of Mohd Yaqoob, resident of Dhanidhar, Ajaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Rayaz, resident of Dhanore Gorsian and Munshi Khan, son of Khan Mohd, resident of Dhanidhar.
