JAMMU, Augt 6: A function was organized by Batwal Maha Sabha Jammu and Kashmir at Batwal Jaggo Ram Memorial, Smailpur Marh Jammu here today wherein a large number of Batwal community members participated and paid floral tribute to Batwal Jaggo Ram on his 66th Parinirman Diwas.
SSP Mohan Lal Kaith was the chief guest of the function and while addressing the public, he told that a great soul was born on 11th November 1876 and left the world for heaven on 6th August 1957.
“Jaggo Ram ji rose above the caste barriers and worked for the welfare of the whole humanity,” Kaith said. President Retired Subedar Major Romesh Chandra Sargotra said in his address that he was a social reformer, fearless and fair leader. Sargotra also demanded that in the ensuing Assembly elections mandate for the Marh constituency must be given to the Batwal community as up till now all major political parties have ignored even when Batwal community have huge share of votes. The Sabha general secretary Ramlal Lakhotra accompanied by others presented two Shawls to the chief guest, guest of honour Madan Lal Kaith as a token of love and respect. Lakhotra also thanked the community members for participating in the function actively and making the program a grand success.
Prominent among others who participated in the function included Chairman Kamal Singh Kaith, Mela Ram Tagga, Kamal Chand Motan, Dunni Singh Motan, Gunni Ram Kaith, Ram Lal Sargotra, Bua Ditta Kaith, Narain Dass Bassa, Uttam Chand Sandhu, Fouji Joginder Sangam, Bhushan Kaith, Rashpal Lakhotra, Darshan Lal Kaith, Gurdas Sargotra, Baljeet Kaith, Gharu Ram Sandhu, Raghubir Lakhotra, Baldev Raj Lakhotra, Karnail Singh, Darwari Lal Sargotra, Ghandharab Motan, Mohan Lal Motan, Som Nath , Mohan Lal Kaith, Chaman Lal Kaith, Naib Sarpanch Chanchal Singh, Panch Ram Dayal and Parveen Kumar.
